November 2010 Entry #15 Coming Out of the Dark: The Miraculous Biblical Painting
TITLE: COMING OUT OF THE DARK: THE MIRACULOUS BIBLICAL PAINTING

While I was working, I thought that my daughter was sitting on the carpet watching the television, but she was really studying the remarkable nature of the cloth.
“Ma, there’s a huge design in the middle of this backdrop!” she announced. “It looks like an art piece or a design or something,” said Nikko, still quite uncertain of the design’s curious nature. Then suddenly, Nikko made out a perfect form.
“There’s a horse’s head or a unicorn,” she blurted. I stepped back and focused on the white winged horse, a Tri-Star horse type, with a rod projecting from its head and continuing downwardly, splitting its face into two halves, making it look like a unicorn.
“And it’s crowned by angels!” I surprisingly shouted, referring to the silhouetted angelic forms at the top of the image.
For some time, we stared at the design, amazed at the fact that something had painted images within it, and it was not me. Naturally, we were excited, joyous, and baffled at the same time. I couldn’t believe that something of this magnitude had happened to me. I couldn’t believe that anything could paint itself. In all of my life, I had never seen anything appear of its own volition. Perhaps I was in the Twilight Zone! I pinched myself to check, but somehow I knew that I was in the presence of greatness.
How could this painting appear from out of nowhere? I knew all the time that this was the miracle for which I had prayed. My miracle had finally arrived. To say the very least, I wasn’t expecting a miracle like this. I didn’t even know what it was. All I really was asking for were a few qualified clients who could appreciate the uniqueness and quality of my work.
Since the nature of this unearthly painting was veiled in mystery, I began to ponder its unlikely origin. I began to ask myself critical question: If I didn’t paint these images, who did? Were the angels there when I was painting the muslin outside? If so, had they been there all the time? Would these images disappear from the cloth in the morning? Furthermore, what in the world was this? And most of all, what did it mean? I didn’t know what it was, but I did know that it had traveled into my life from another realm of existence – the realm of the supernatural.
